DH and I are still on mostly a twice a day workout schedule. They're not hard routines, but they do get us moving. Going to add more balance work for DH. His balance sucks! I can see that there's at least some improvement because he got tripped up yesterday evening and after a bit of wobbling and hopping around he righted himself! That's big for him!
Weight is fluctuating for both of us. Frustrating - but whatcha gonna do? A pound down and a half pound up seems to be the norm. Not going to worry about it too much- just keeping up the healthier eating and increased activity level.
There is a "system" in the gulf. Too early to get freaked out - but ya never know with this crazy weather. No matter what this one does it's a good kick in the rear to get busy. Unfortunately, there's more rain predicted for the hill country where all the flooding was. They're under a flash flood warning again.
I guess I was too slow distributing feed yesterday evening because the Boer buck (aka - Big Guy) popped over the fence. Jumped a stock panel like it was nothing! Not even a doe in heat anywhere near him. Thankfully, he just ended up in the other buck (Hank's) pen - not out with the rest of the herd. Guess it's time for me to think about breeding season arrangements. I'm going to have to put him in another area that has taller fences. They're not much taller, but the stock panels in that area are topped with a 2x6. These boers were never taught to lead so it's not fun to move them. They've gotten a little better since I've had them, but they're not totally cooperative. Moving them is an exercise in patience. They don't fight but they have a tendency to plant their feet and say "NO!" Not exactly excited about it, but it is what it is.
I get further and further behind every day. Working out twice a day with DH is taking up some time. Also, I've become a total heat wimp. I'm hiding inside most of the day. I can't get much done in only a couple hours of outside time. It starts to cool off about 6:30pm and dark around 8:30. Mornings are always miserable even if the temps are down because the humidity is ridiculous. You walk outside and immediately feel like you're trying to breathe underwater. Absolutely miserable... I swear I'm not gonna complain this much in winter, lol. I'll try to hold my complaints until the temps go below 20! I have learned to appreciate that in winter I can always put on more clothes to be comfortable. It doesn't work that way in summer! Even naked would still be miserable... So glad that's not socially acceptable, lol!!
