The tropical traditions coconut oil has the local Phillipine farmers who wouldn't have a market (because they are so far out in the boonies) make their oil by grinding the coconut and letthing it sit with the coconut milk for a day until the oil separates out and skimming the oil off. Then ship. That's it for processing. And, I like that they are bringing money to farmers who aren't big conglomerates.

Im working at a long term care\ facility, and get to know many Alzheimer's patients. More often, it is the food we eat that causes certain illnesses--including cancer, heart attack, hypertension, etc. we must eat healthy and follow a good lifestyle.

Yes, but look what we feed them at those places! Ensure and fruit juice and desserts and the meals are mostly carbs :(

That's my big issue with being a CNA. Not throwing the food out and hijacking the kitchen.

My friend's momhas gained about 50 lbs since going in to the nursing home. So not only has she deteriorated severly, she is too fat for my friend to safely move or take anywhere.

The nurse who taught my CNA course wants to open her own.

It will have a casino and lots of things to GET UP AND DO! Not just bingo and sitting activities. And she said she'd hire me to cook. There'd be a garden. :)

That is good to know. Also, read up on pomegranate for Alzheimers. I have been doing loads of research on this and it is supposed to break down the beta amyloid deposits in the brain.

It also does loads of other great things for the body as well. For everyone you know in the general population who takes antibiotics, tell them to get pomegranate juice as well. They are synergistic. Pomegranate is also very effective against the 'Super Bugs' such as MRSA, VRE, and others.

US doctors won't promote this because pharmaceutical companies cannot patent fruit. Isn't is amazing how nature has given us everything we need, and yet humans feels the 'need' to 'improve' it, but ends up destroying so much more in the process.

Check out Manuka Honey too. Great antibacterial, antiviral properties, but I am probably preaching to the choir here!
