Sweden I believe is in the $9-10 per gallon area in US dollars.
We are in the high $3 area now.

Not sure but I think that is about right.

I sure know it can't be $2000 US dollars for a gallon of gas ---tell me that isn't so LOL LOL

The only thing that worries me is the potential of them using this new threat to raise the gas prices yet again...

Many European contries use the comma and period in the opposite way that we do in the USA.

This.

We currently pay $1.07.9/L (1 US gallon = 3.79 Litres so that would be ~$4.09/US gallon).

noone go to england, there paying the equivalent of about $12 a gal right now lol

that being said...
why panic?

sure it would suck...but paniking is the equivalent of a meltdown, its useless.

the way i try to look at it is, hey, if fule prices get so exorberant that i cant afford to run my car, then i get rid of my car and replace it with a small draft horse (fjord)...sure i gain an extra mouth to feed, but hey no gas, no car insurance and no taxes on it lol.
everything else would just mean growing and hand harvesting as much as possible and getting a god local thing going on with other local producers to swap things we have and dont have around as nessicary. ie i grow a metric buttload of meat chickens and the guy down the street only grows hay, ill swap you hay for chicken...
a solid work horse and small buggy for transport and tada...
takes longer but its been done before.

id adapt...probably not easily...but id adapt.

I could adapt, too. DH on the other hand would be hating life or figuring out something different to do. He's a travel around salesman who pays his own expenses - and a creature of habit. Hopefully he'd be close to home when he ran out of gas.

Interesting replies, no panic here, just wanted to know how you all would respond. Never knew the USA had the mother load of oil stashed away in the depths of N.Dakota.. Somehow, i seriously doubt that would benefit Americans much, price wise, since it seems most oil giants these days are global corps. The funny thing is, those in control use any little excuse to highjack consumers at the pump.Regardless of how much oil comes to the US from Canada or the middle east, and big reserves in N.Dakota, when Irans power program comes under attack from whomever, we will indeed pay dearly.
Yep, it is what it is FarmerChick...lol Just be prepared to pay through the nose or ride your bike...
