James, there's nothing wrong w/praying for what you want. You wouldn't hesitate to ask your earthly father for something you'd like to have that you don't need, would you? And, as long as it's something he can afford, and he doesn't feel isn't bad for you, I'm sure he'll get it for you. But, if you were to ask for something that wasn't right, he wouldn't let you have it. It's the same w/God. He promises that no good thing will He withhold from the man who will walk uprightly. Let me tell you a story, then I have to get off of here.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted a horse. Do I have to have a horse? Not really. They're not a necessity of life. Then, I met RU. I leased a horse off of her for a few months, but decided not to over the winter since I didn't know how much time I'd actually get to ride. She told me I could still come out and ride if I wanted, and I told her if I did, I'd do some work so I wasn't riding for free.

But, I STILL had that desire for a horse. One day, I woke up, and felt a burning desire for my own horse, a chestnut, Arabian mare. So, I prayed 1x for a chestnut, Arabian mare. I told no one. Not too long after that, RU called me up and asked me if I'd like a chestnut, Arabian mare. I asked, how much? She replied, free. The owner had died, the family didn't want her, and they just wanted to find a good home for her. And, that's how I got my 1st horse.

But, I also was able to use the story of how I got her to witness to others. I cannot tell you how many people that asked me about her got told the story. I cannot see how God has used that. But, He knows. And, that's what's the most important.
