I've seen people do this w/humans also to figure out what they'll have in the way of children-even if they're not pregnant.

That doesn't really work BB. He apparently got a lucky guess. It is not accurate at all though.

If this hen sets believe me Im going for a dozen pullets and I will let you know if its happens.............Im still alittle skeptical but ya never know.......

I hope so James! My mom found a nest from the chickens I gave her...SEVENTEEN eggs! She called me to tell me and ask me what to do LOL! She had already washed them though :/ I told her next time leave them alone and she'll have some chicks!

Well I took one of the hens who had sat for a day before. I hope I can get her to do it. Im anxious for Buffs and I'd like to test out that theory.........

I may be really late to the party, but if you have fertile eggs, and you seem like a handy, resourceful, intelligent young man, couldn't you just build your own brooder?

Seeming like a lot of energy and emotion is being spent on something that may not happen with the girls?

Ive thought about getting an incubator but I dont wanna have to maintain it. I m waiting for a natural incubator. I may have one its been warm she may fall right into the trap. Id rather she do it I dont like to care for chicks they stink and are a pain in the heiny!

My 90-something year old neighbor told me just yesterday that the round eggs will be pullets and the pointy ones will be roos. he said that was how they chose eggs "back on the farm". He swears by it
