Momma may have been sore/engorged and the little kid bumping may have hurt...just thinking out loud.

I'd get her up on a stand and milk out colostrum. Always good for future use! And I know SD and I think Jav both milked their goats once a day even with the kid on 24/7 (right, Jav?).

Freeze her colostrum (mark it with the day...day one, day two, etc) for future needs. You never know when you'll need it, trust me. The hens can have it if it makes it to more than a year without you needing it.

I have a doe with just one doeling on her. I milk her in the morning and night. In the morning I get over a half gallon - at night, since the baby has been on her all day, I don't get much over a cup. I milk her at night just to keep the demand up - she had triplets but the two boys have been sold.
