You have an awesome variety Becca! I love the little guinea and turkey babies!
IB #1 AND #2 are both males. I'm not sure about the first peachick, but I'm leaning towards male also.
You can tell by the primary wing feathers, notice the coppery and reddish color they are. That means male. Females have a dusky dark brown color on wing primaries. I would also say that IB #2 isn't pure IB, I'm thinking more along the lines of pied or dark pied, as there is a spot of white on one of the wing feathers.
I hope your third IB is a hen. you should really keep a couple of them..

I had a wonderful visit with you and it was great to meet your mom yesterday! I really love the hoop house, but your entire set up is just terrific! Thank you for the generous gift of two cookbooks! There are a couple recipes DH has already drooled over!

Saturday was a great day!
It started with a trip to the farmer's market where Mom and I found a bushel of lovely Roma tomatoes from an Amish man for $18. Also found fresh local plums that taste like candy.
I'm a sucker for some sellers. This old man with the shakes was selling produce and had huge brandywine tomatoes. I asked to buy one. $1 each. He asked if I'd take a split one and use it today. Sigh. Sure, I said. I had to cut around the split, but it was a very sweet tomato and made a great BLT for lunch.
I set up the hoop coop in the yard. My 77-yr-old neighbor helped me move it, as it had more drag on the grass than I expected. Won't be moving it every day. Had 2/3 covered in tarp, but I worried that our night temps are to really drop. So, I hooked up 2 heat lamps over a baby pool of wood chips as a bed. I also tarped the open side and around the front. Put slabs of wood over door end to close off drafts on the bottom half. The chicks did well over the last 2 nights.
My cousin from MI and his family stopped in to visit the zoo. They homeschool and had lots of questions for me on incubating and such. The girls will get school credit for visiting me! How cool is that?
I got most of my mowing done, then QA and Keljonma surprised me with a visit. It was great seeing Kel and talking chickens.
Sunday I had another set of visitors. I seem to always be showing off my poultry. I just hope no one is looking at the garden. I cleaned out all the red and green tomatoes that I could find that weren't blight touched. The ducks love it when I throw the cherry tomatoes to them. They run and fight for them. Also cleared out the beans. Found a hidden zucchini that managed to grow and get big. Also a giant cucumber. Time to dig potatoes and pull beets. Then I'll burn all my tomato vines as an old-timer at the farmer's market suggested.
I also got the empty brooders in the garage cleaned out. Another good day!

Brrr. Feels like fall. It was 43 this morning. I worried about my chicks that have only been out now 3 nights, but they seemed to have done fine.
I'm going to make these tonight with the tomatoes I cleared out of the garden.
Green Tomato Bars
4 cups green tomato, finely chopped
2 cups brown sugar, divided
cup butter, softened
1 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups oatmeal
cup nuts, chopped
1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen), optional
In a saucepan, cook tomatoes and 1 cup brown sugar over low heat until tomatoes are softened and juicy. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and remaining sugar; add flour, baking soda, salt, oatmeal, and nuts. Grease a 9x13 pan. Measure out 2 cps dough and press into bottom of pan. Spread tomato mixture, including juice, on top. Sprinkle optional berries over tomatoes. Crumble the remaining dough and sprinkle over all. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Yield: 16 servings.
The blueberries help to hide the green from the kids and make the bars more eye appealing. Still just as yummy without the berries, though.
