BeccaOH: Update of just STUFF

I've never eaten rabbit, but I have to confess, when I saw him I thought he'd make a great meal. :lau
YOU CAN'T EAT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to pair him up with my blue girl first, THEN you can eat him!! :gig

Rabbit can be really tasty! Actually, it can be used as a substitute in many recipes that call for chicken, as long as it isn't just served plain. Of course, the same can be said of goat.

:D

I don't think the big blue bunny likes other bunnies at QA's house. He might make a good meal yet. ;)

Frosts are getting harder and the nights colder. We had 2 clear nights with full moon. Time to get out the heated waters and start running extension cords. :/ Not sure how I want to do that this year. Last year I only had 3 to set out. I've got 7 this year.

My 6 young KC ducks that were supposed to be 2 boys and 4 girls appear/sound to be more like 4 boys and 2 girls. :barnie I may keep a trio, but the other boys will have to go. Got a trio of fawn runners via a good auction buy QA made, so right now I have 16 ducks in my yard. LOL

I have GOT to find a butchering day. Will have to take a day off work most likely. I could do 11 chickens and a turkey. :ep Not sure if I have that kind of stamina -- or freezer space.

Signed up for a swap box connected to BYC. Need to put homemade stuff in it and mail by the Nov. 15. I have jams I can include. Not sure what else. . . . No time to get crafty. :/

homemade tea breads, dry mixes for spreads, dips, salad dressings, potpourris, rice-filled bed warmers, pot holders made out of pockets from old blue jeans filled with cinnamon and other whole spices and some heat resistant batting/mylar.....

I prepped for a hard frost last night. Sat out 2 heated waterers. Put a couple hanging waterers down on the ground so the ground heat could help the water not freeze as hard. Woke this morning to temps in the 30s but no frost and definitely no freeze. See what happens when you prepare! :D

I found this recipe for pancake mix and made it last night for supper: http://www.recipezaar.com/Basic-Pancake-Mix-48635 . I plan to prepare the dry ingredients and give as gifts along with the recipe. Will go good with the banana nut and caramel apple jams I've made.
