Bee's Guest House

Well, the end of an era approaches.... :/ My poor flock was given to a farmer this past Sunday...all but 6 hens who will be going to a separate place in another week. Then no more chickens here.

It was very sad for me and I felt more than I thought I would....I guess I was more attached to the silly old birds than I thought. My beautiful girls and my sweet roo were moved to a place where they will never see the light of day again. :hit

These folks told me they were building a place for them with an outside run, so I knew they would be captive but when we got there I found they would have no outside run. Too late then to take them back home as I was committed and these folks are nice people.....just don't care much about chicken happiness, I guess.

I felt like a truck hit me all day. Like each shiny chicken was a dream let go from my hand.

I finally had to turn their lives over to God to get any peace about it. God will care for my animals and we will all be reunited one day where they will never know a fence nor a predator.

Every preparation is one step closer.....

:hugs

When I sold my first flock, I felt like the end of an era. But now the new chickens are healthier, are laying better, etc.

Found a missions retreat sponsored by Samaritan's Purse in June for 3 days that gives workshops on disaster relief and construction.

I think my boy, Eli, might go with me....he says he would like to go.

It's in NC.....NC in June! :D :celebrate

Just dippin' the toe in the missions waters to see how the water feels...... :)

It will cost $252 for us as a couple and that covers the cost of the hotel, meals and workshops. I didn't find that to be a bad price at all, considering how much hotels cost.

Also found a church build going on in AK in Aug. and Sept. I would have to pay my own way there and back and would stay 1 week.

I've spent money on worse things.....much worse.

I'm thinking I could get the feel for what they do on these missions and then maybe see if I could try a short term mission trip overseas where it is needed most.

Hey Bee, where have you been? Haven't seen you around lately.
I think the short term mission is a great place to start...then you will have a better idea of whether that is what you would like to do or not. I thonk you will love it though, and then we will miss you here :(

I've been wondering where she is too. When was the last time she was on, and does anyone have any other way to get in contact w/her and make sure she's OK?

I pm'ed her the other day and she responded. She is pretty busy with the missionary stuff!
