WOWZA!!!! That's lots of gravel, hon! My Bat had just graveled her driveway before all the SHTF with the family....all 4/10 of a mile of it and a parking area by the house. Don't know what that translates into in feet but cost a good bit.

Yes, drooly faces over heavy equipment is what separates the women from the girls, I'm afraid..... You can either wish you knew a fella that owns a truck that you can contract to do the job...or you can dream bigger and wish you owned your own truck and could haul all the gravel,compost, manure, firewood, etc. you ever wanted, anytime you wanted.

Well, gals....I found the most perfect book! The book that will facilitate the writing of MY book. A how-to on literary agents, book proposals, queries to agents, an index of agents, etc.

I'm extremely happy over this find and it happened like things usually happen in my life.....in that otherworldly, coincidences-tailored-just-for-my-situation way that my life has been going of late. You know...the ones that leave you scratching your head and thanking God at the same time!

It cost me $5 at a book fair and it extremely informative and comprehensive. Can you beat that, Captain Compost?!!

Here's another blessing....I ordered from Pinetree Seed Co. for the first time this year. Very large seed order as I kind of went hog wild over the variety of seeds in this one catalog....crazy cheap prices too!

THE ORDER ARRIVED IN 3 DAYS!!!!!! Unprecedented in my life.... I don't think I've ever received anything that quick from an online order in my whole life.

First off Bee,..so sorry to hear about ole Fess,...he was an excellent actor and NOBODY could pull off Davey Crockett like him.

On another topic,...WE GOT the DUMPTRUCK!!! DH has a dozen or so jobs allready lined up for the next few weeks! People need gravel right now,...nobody likes mud! I get the privilige to be the first customer so to speak,...he is going to the local turkey farm and getting me a load of turkey poo for the garden! Excellent fertelizer! YES GIRLS, equipment can make you happy too! This along with that new scraper blade and brush hog for the tractor,...look at the work we can get done now! Now I need a post hole digger for the tractor,...and rolls and rolls of fence and fence posts,...one thing at a time! And as far as the gravel and driveway thing,...our driveway is almost a half mile,...that is a lot of gravel!

Can't wait for that book BEE!!!!!

Me either....and my family are really pushing for me to get started. I know, however, that I will not be able to concentrate on any writing until my spring projects are complete and the garden is in the ground....then it's time to enjoy the weather and wait. And write.

Today we sunk the corner posts for the garden. They were ancient locust posts that have been on this place for many, many moons. Most of them were rotten and I could only salvage a few. They are very weathered and ancient...very pretty to someone like me.

Let the sheep out of their pen for the first time today and it was so pleasing to me to watch their joy...and their greed! Ate like pigs~tried to chew a pair of shorts on the line, a tuft of deer hair in the yard, fallen apple branches~you name it, they were trying to eat it! They have hay available to offset the new grass, so I'm not too worried but I know I'll never get them to stay in a pen after today!

UTC, congrats on the dump truck! Now...bring me a load of gravel! How nice to have the right equipment for the work you need to do....I've rarely have that opportunity so I know the value of it.

Thanks Bee! That dumptruck will help pay for the farming and help out a lot here on the farm. I can't wait to get my turkey poo from the turkey farm for my garden. Fertilizer! I am getting itchy to get started with everything too. We have to mend the garden fence and the pig lot too,...I can't wait to get the pigs . Then as you said,...set and wait for it all to grow .
