I've been looking into getting a manual pasta machine. Just the roller thingy to make the dough flat and make spaghetti and linguini. I've shopped around on Amazon and so many people complain the the darn things fall apart or get metal shavings into the pasta and such.

Does anyone have a simple manual machine? Do you like it or not? If you like it what brand/model is it? Recommendations please!

:)

I have one of the traditional ones. It's made by Marcato. I've never had problems with it. It was probably the least expensive one I could find at the kitchen store at the mall 20 years ago or so.

I just bought an Imperia from Amazon, along with a ravioli press. They do say to run a waste batch of dough through once before you use it to clean it of any metal shavings or oils, and that first batch of dough was pretty yucky. I love the machine, though!
