Growing up we just did it wild. We used a black berry that was similar in size to a raspberry. I have a neglected raspberry patch out back that needs to be thinned and the bed reestablished. Maybe i'll wander out there tomorrow and see whats left on the canes Need any plants? When I was newly married I tried making wine and it never seemed to do much. I think I gave up too soon.

Oh! Sorry!
Ummm, I just add the water and sugar to the juice, cover it with a towel and leave it alone for a few months :idunno
Seems to work fine that way.
Did you do the modern yeast version, or the old fashioned wild?
BubblingBrooks, do you have an actual recipe for that? Like how much sugar, juice and water? Then just cover with a towel and leave for how long? Would like to try it this winter!
