Sounds like a wonderful church family! Hope you get most of your needs and wants taken care of at the shower! Not getting to go to the shows with hubby this year won't be so bad...you'll get some good bonding time in with baby!

Ditto to that. I love it when we have a potluck dinner at church. It's not unusual for us to have one if one of the missionaries we support is in the area. That way, we get to really get to know them. (Or, at least what they like to eat!)

When we were between trips to Russia to adopt DS we were given 3 showers, one at church and one at each of our schools where we were working. We were stunned at peoples' generosity and kindness. The one at church was my favorite because DH and I were together for it. And you'll get to have baby with you! Even better!!
