Bubblingbrooks Journey - Salut!

I wish I had had a camera w/me one day. Many people don't realize that eagles are scavengers. There was a dead deer in a field just down from the farm. I drove by, and saw 2 adult and 3 juvenile bald eagles on it.

It is nearly impossible to have a farm, a baby and a tidy house ;) I just wonder how those pioneer women did it!
The secret to that is almost no "stuff"! ;)

Your baby is just a little darling and the eagle visit is really cool.

We had a eagle visit us at school about two weeks ago. Which is really good news for the health of our local rivers. We see more and more of them these days.

I know you're not on regularly anymore, but I'm hoping for a good kidding!!! We need an update! And more baby pictures 'cause that girl is just too much for words!

The doe is now scratching her ligament area with her horns. Seems to have nice hollow areas there as well.
:idunno I could be hallucinating as well :gig
DH hollered at me last night, asking if I could hear the dueling banjos. The turkey was gobbling, and the doe was answering. Over and over and over!
We gave all of the goats the wormer last night. Wondering about doing the chickens as well.

So, summer is shaping up to be very cool. I am now second guessing planting the Sweetmeat squash.
I can save the seed for next year.
Of course, if I do not plant them, we will have a very nice summer

Root crops should do super regardless.
The Hugelbeet bed I am starting, is where I am going to move all the rhubarb to. Looking forward to the results!

DH scrounged at the dump this morning before work, and filled the truck up. Lots more wood for the barn, garden planters, buckets and a kiddie pool for the ducks!

We were given LOTS of jars this week. 9 gallon jars, and an entire dishwasher full of quarts, pints and smaller.
The family moved to Adak, and have no need for them anymore.

I need to finalize basic cleaning. I am doing a basic spring clean, and will go even deeper when it gets close to the in laws arriving.

And :ep :fl :)
Social worker is coming Sunday afternoon for the first meeting and the house tour.

I'm sure the house tour will be fine, don't stress. Just remember they are doing their jobs and dotting "i"s and crossing "t"s.

I started my squashes indoors the other day, crossing my fingers. I'm probably just a bit warmer than you. I also crossed my fingers and moved my transplants outside (that should have gone out last month!) and I saw they made it through a frost last night. They did not predict a frost again for us this week so I was a little worried when I saw the layer of ice on the animal bowls this morning!

I wish I would get a supply of free jars! That is just what I need. Everyone around here seems to be collecting them now.

Remember in your frenzy to get ready for that visit to stop and take time to enjoy that baby. If I were them, I'd be checking on the bond developing between you all as opposed to whether the front porch is swept.

It looked like she had a tiny bit of discharge this morning, and her tail is in the down and arched position. I can almost touch my fingers around her tail bone.
Udder is filling up quite nicely as well.

Home study went super well. she was here 4 hours, and only needs one more hour with us.
