Can anyone help identify this greedy bug?

They're both beetles, but not the same one. I don't know what John Henry's is, but whingnut's is a Japanese beetle.

Thanks for the interest. We've been getting rid of them (and the grubs) as we find them and using various home made organic sprays, which seems to have solved the problem, touch wood. I think it was largely a problem as the plot hadn't been used for a while and had become over run with weeds, now we hav things more under control, its not so bad. I also think that the damage was more apparent as the plants were trying to get established, now their a bit bigger they seem to be fending them off a bit better.

We haven't ended up resorting to anything else yet, but I believe beneficial nematodes and milky spore will solve the problem, should other people reeding this have a problem with them, and the white grubs.
