Ok... I have a wart on my temple, right in my hairline that I have had for at least four years. I know it was there four years ago, I don't know how long it was there before that.

I take this as absolute proof that I am a witch. No need to try and see if I float. I have used two tubes of OTC wart remove gel. I used a whole can of wart freezer-offer on it. (Ten applications over the course of several months)

I have also tried garlic.

I think I would have trouble with the duct tape method. Because my hair would get in the way. I had that kind of problem keeping a bandaid on it when it gets all inflamed from the chemicals I put on.

So far, I think that's all I've tried.

Twenty years ago, when I was a teen, I had a wart on my calf that I couldn't get rid of for over two years. One day while shaving my legs, I accidentally shaved it off. It bled PROFUSELY. But, it never came back. That is what I would really like to do to this one--cut it off. But I wuss out every time I get close to it with my knife. (from what I remember, cutting a plug out of your skin is really painful.) But I am fairly convinced that cutting it is going to be the only way to get rid of it.

What do doctors use? Two of my boss's little kids had several warts on their torso. They took the kids to the doctor who put some stuff on there and covered them with bandaids and the warts fell off. What is THAT stuff? Maybe I need to try some of that.

My husband had a wart growing on his back. It was about the size of my thumb. Doctor wasn't worried about it but I didn't like it. I tried a remedy I found online. I sterilized a needle and poke the wart a couple of times. I then took an ACV-soaked cottonball and taped it into place. I replaced it every night for 4 days. (My husband couldn't take the smell anymore) The wart was gone and the doctor was amazed.

I had multiple warts on my foot for years and had a large one "removed" 2 or 3 times. I read somewhere that taking Vitamin A would kill the virus and they would go away. Well, it worked. I took 10,000 IU's of vitamin A for about a couple months. Sorry I don't remember exactly how long. My foot doctor was surprised it worked and was going to try it on another patient. Later I found out if you take Vitamin A you should also take Vitamin E at the opposite time of day. I haven't had a wart since.

What my grandmother explained to me, and I haven't researched to see if it's true, is that warts are a vitamin A deficiency. Assuming my grandmother was right, that would be why this worked for you.

Asparagus is high in vitamin A! ;)
This is legit! I had a couple plantar warts that nothing worked on. I was desperate and saw vitamin A time delay video on youtube. Too crazy to not try it!

I added a lot of vitamin A to my diet and applied vitamin A to the warts twice daily. Worked completely, they havent come back.

Apparently, vitamin A limits replication of the virus that causes the wart.

:) I understand totally. The needle was nice and warm and he didn’t feel anything.

I am working on a new spot on his forehead. Hoping it will work.

I read through the thread before commenting. Tea tree oil is what I use. Apply 3times daily tell it goes away then continue for another week.
On the blood root and creasote . I wander if the creasote is the creasote bush which is used in the treating of the herpesvirus.

I'm a fan of tea tree oil also. One of my favorite applications: During bug/tick season, I add a couple drops to my shampoo/soap when showering. I believe that the lingering scent does a LOT to repel biting insects.

Wally's World (Walmart) sells tea tree oil in 2oz bottles for $7 or so last time i stocked up. the health-food store sells it for $13/oz. i'm the only one who uses it.

seeing this thread bumped i just read through it and enjoyed the stories. it just happens i'm in the middle of getting a large callous off my toe, and since it is in an area that i don't rub against anything there's no reason for that callous to be there other than the fact that sometimes warts hide under callouses.

some time ago, after a shower, i started cutting the callous off that area with my large toenail clippers and then i'd put tea tree oil on it. this past few weeks i've been cutting off the layers of skin to get down in there deeper and there i'm finally seeing the "roots" or "seeds" which are actually the blood vessels of the warts all scattered around that area. so bingo! theory supported by actual evidence.

now after getting to that layer of the problem i've been applying some wart remover and then after that dries i put some duct tape over it to keep it from getting on my socks. change it every other day or more. it's now cleared out almost all of the dark spots and looking much nicer. i will keep up this routine for another week or two to make sure i've got all the warts out of there and then see how it goes.

i think the problem with many larger or more difficult warts that keep coming back is that people stop too soon in the treatments. you have to keep going so that all the layers of skin underneath have time to grow back out and to make sure all the wart has been killed off (the virus in the skin cells that makes the warts appear) - this can take three weeks to a month. during this time make sure to be careful what you are touching because you can spread the virus and start up new warts. wash those hands. :)

my main use for tea tree oil is keeping the foot fungus from taking over. i use some tea tree oil and/or tea tree lotion between some of my toes after every shower and it will prevent the foot fungi from coming back, but at other times if i get a bad case i will use full strength bleach between the toes to knock it back along with even soaking my feet in hot water with some bleach in it to get all the dead skin off my feet. that is where the fungi lives and feeds, on dead skin. usually i get some in the summer from getting my feet wet too often and not keeping up after the fungi as i should. so by this time in the winter i'm usually just finishing up clearing it up again.

oh i also use tea tree oil on my toenails after i cut them to make sure there isn't any nail fungus getting a chance to get going. works.

but back to warts. :) Mom has had plantars warts that have caused her pain, but within a few days of using wart remover and duct tape on them she felt no more pain and most of them went away. i've not checked her feet since, but i think we should start getting in the habit of doing that as i don't think she can really do a very good job of seeing them any more and bending that far. a hard thing to get her to let me do though. we'll see how that goes...
