Sep 11, 2010 #2 O ohiofarmgirl Sipping Bacon Martinis Joined Aug 18, 2009 Messages 5,488 Reaction score 0 Points 189 i'm about to work on my pumpkins and squash also. i think i'm gonna blanch-then-freeze they can be canned, so i hear. there are guidelines tho about not mashing or pureeing the pumpkin. i think its really dense and so the fear is that it wont be thoroughly heated. we dont have a good place to store ours whole so we have to do something.

There is just nothing like a fresh pumpkin pie
