Ive always used Mirro pressure canners and love the two I have. One is a 12 qrt, the other, a double stacker 22 qrt. Easy to use and clean.

Its self maintaining? I have a gas range at the new place (and at the prior place) so every 10 - 15 min babysitting is a must to turn up, turn down the heat to keep it at 11.

Yep, set it and forget it. Once you pop the pressure regulator on you are free for processing time + 45 minutes or so for the pressure to come down. Really nice for 90 minute processing time!

I have the electric Presto pressure canner and love it, can use for water bath too.

As @Hinotori stated above pressure cookers don't meet all the requirements for a successful can!

I have a gas range so I'm gonna have to feel it out I bought a t fal

It is normal for that little plastic plug to leak steam while the canner builds up to pressure?

With the Presto electric canner? Yep! Mine does
