Chicken and dumplings recipe

I make it like chicken noodle soup, only use homemade bread dough instead of noodles. I make very small rolls since they rise so much. Then put in oven to bake and brown on top.

Memories now of being really yummy and hungry for some!
 
I came here late. I boiled the chicken and onions like I said and I picked out the skin and bones. I removed most of the meat. I added celery and carrots and a can of peas because I didn’t have frozen. While I was waiting for that to simmer I made a dough and rolled it out and cut it into rectangles. Then I made a white roux with butter and flour to thicken the gravy. Then oops.... I am out of milk so I mixed some non-fat dry hurricane survivor milk (please don’t shoot me 😂) . I added about a cup. Played around texting my niece until I had a simmer. Dropped all the dumplings and washed dishes. It should be just about ready and really I think I will have enough chicken for another big dish.
DH is acting like a big baby. Has a chill. Maybe some comfort food will fix him.
