Chicken waterers in the winter

Yep, those nipples will freeze in the winter cold. I place my rubber pan in the coop, up on cement blocks. This keeps the water out of the deep litter and the warmth of the coop keeps the water from freezing solid....just a piece of ice to remove if the weather stays subfreezing.

My chickens also help themselves to the dog and sheep's heated buckets.... :rolleyes:
