Just found out that there's a duck sitting on eggs out at the farm.

I have chicks starting to zip right now. They are due Saturday. Impatient buggers

I have 13 eggs due next week Tuesday, but after the power out yesterday all day and the incubator getting switched off accidentally, more than once, I expect they may be a bit late...

i just had a mama Muscovy hatch out 5 little duckles. ds's dog killed 3 of them before i could catch him or the ducks. to say i was angry was an understatement. and to chime in i have a 42 egg styrofoam incubator that I've used for a couple of years and get good hatches from it. and sumi, i would be wanting to chunk rocks at that kid. a thief and cruel to animals. yup I'd chunk rocks at him and run him home

No, that's not weird. I'm more into baby animals than baby humans. I only ever wanted 2 kids, a boy and a girl and that's what I got.

I'm thinking that if I ever have kids I'll adopt. I love most baby animals. Especially ducks and chickens <3

When I go broody I hatch more chicks I only have one child and I don't think I'll have any more, so I'll stick with baby birds and animals instead.

The incubator was off again last night. The stupid plug is iffy and loses connection the moment you bump it and of course DH and DS bumps it all the time... I got up this morning to ice cold eggs and humidity of 60%. It'll be a a miracle if those chicks hatch o.k. after all these mishaps We'll have to see what happens Tuesday/Wednesday.
