Chicks are hatching :)

Aaaawwww! They're so cute! :love I'd love to have a broody like that. One of my chicks got stuck on the outside of the pen the other day while mama and the others were on the inside. When I went to get her and put her in w/the rest, mama attacked me thru the fence!
 
Good mom! This one is very laid back. I think she knows by now, after all her hatches, that I won't steal her babies. I gave them some food and she left the nest box for a few minutes with them, so she ate something and I left a shallow pan of water near for them all. Can't find any chick food in town, of course, now that I need it. Thank goodness for yolk and 3 day's grace. I'll boil some eggs for them tomorrow.

Thanks for your concern; the doctors gave me a battery of prescriptions including Prednizone and Flexeril and Norco... I was up again in only a week-- the fastest it's ever happened. I have a very unstable back (one extra vertebra and a joint in the pelvis that shouldn't be there) and have suffered from various pinched nerves and other problems all my life. Chiropractic is the only thing that helps me, but now that my only insurance is the VA (ex Navy here), they won't cover chiropractic from an outside doctor (local) because they have one I can go to... except that he is 5 HOURS away. *sigh*
 
Awww.....that is just adorable!! :love There is nothing cuter than baby chicks! How are you not just melting away when you see them! Enjoy them Sumi! :)
 
Really makes you wonder. When I started going to both my chiropractor and my allergist, they were the only ones in this area that my insurance covered. The rest were way far north of here.
 
Mom took the babies out today, out of the coop, so I snapped a quick pic of them before she ran off with them LOL For some reason she doesn't like the camera.

I went to top up their food and water bowls just now and found mom with only 4 chicks. I searched high and low for the 5th one, but I can't find it anywhere :(
