I live in town, not out in the country. A small town, but 'town' nonetheless! I have a few trees that are over fifty feet, but not within 60 or 70 feet of where I'd like to put the generator. I haven't found out 'for sure' that I am going to be allowed to do this, but if I am not, I intend to fight 'city hall'

I have a friend out in the country where we are going to work on our 'trial and error' LOL here, it's not the typhoons, it's the tornadoes!

I was talking to my husband about the do-ability of such a project. He had to bring up the fact that you would probably need a crane to erect one tall enough to be worthwhile (at least in our area, due to neighborhood trees) and also that you would have to get a permit for each one you wanted to build. That is because WA state has a lot of land-use regulations and seem to need a permit for just about anything you want to build. :p
