My babies were spoiled with warm soapy washcloth instead of cold wipes. They didnt like switching to wipes!
I need to dig deeper. Did a quick Google search and it seems every recipe has essential oils (one even had CBD oil) and other extra stuff. Does the baby's bottom need to smell of lavender?Cloth diapers were excellent for the eldest. She was sensitive to the disposables.
Side note. Somewhere I have a recipe for homemade wipes. Half roll of paper towels, baby lotion, witchhazel and couple of other things. If interested, I can look for it
Closest I could find. Add 1 teaspoon of witch Hazel. Otherwise spot onI need to dig deeper. Did a quick Google search and it seems every recipe has essential oils (one even had CBD oil) and other extra stuff. Does the baby's bottom need to smell of lavender?
absolutely nothing better than an old cloth diaper for drying glassware! No Lint, and beautifully absorbent.Same here! They washed and dried so nicely! Lines full of white! 😁 I had no problems folding "to fit". There were plastic covers to snap over when going out. Handling used took some advance thought...plastic bags. And frequent laundry!
There were NO packages of wipes back then. only the wet washclothes you carried along. Now you know why diaper bags used to look like a suitcase...and you emptied it at once when you got home!! I bought a lot of Clorox.
The expense was far less when you had reuse. Those disposable diapers are very costly. Plus, you have all that trashcan and landfill overflow. Gross. I even had lovely dust rags once kids went to training pants!
Here there seems to be a diaper shortage, along with formula. Both of these shortages scare the crap out of me. Along with bullets of course
There's cloth diapers. Sort of yucky, but doable.
This is true, I’m not sure where to source them though. Formula is scarier for me, in case I die during childbirth or my body isn’t producing enough. I don’t want DW to panic.
If your baby isn't in daycare, cloth diapers are very do-able. I think new parents should have some cloth dipes on hand even if they plan to use disposable. Especially true for families with any financial insecurity so that running out of diapers before payday is not a problem.
I can help with cloth diapering. Finding the right kind can be hard. They're not available in stores and the grandmas who offer cloth diapering advice have no idea what they're talking about. Cloth diapering has changed dramatically. Its so much easier now!
My baby isn’t even here yet lol! Cloth diaper advice is much appreciated! Daycare isn’t in the plan.
I tried cloth diapering with DS and it gave him horrible skin issues. My husband wasn’t on board so I quit trying. I’m sure I could have found a different style that worked but having 3 kids and doing most animal chores around here, I pick my battles!
