Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Coffee is ready. Going to the store today, it should be wild. Bad weather panic is real. I need dog food and a few groceries. I got feed yesterday, a neighbor came by, I always pick up feed for him, and he helped me unload it.

Our 10 day forecast. Go ahead and laugh, but for us, that’s cold! Every time I open that weather app, the low on Tuesday changes. It goes from 19F to 11F. Prediction of snow and or ice—maybe. Eh, won’t know until it gets here-or not. It won’t be so bad. Daytime highs get above freezing. . It’s when we stay frozen for a week or more that things get unhappy.

Ours is similar but not quite that low. Our low temp is supposed to be low 20's. However, we often get a few degrees lower than what is forecast for the houston area. Ugh!

overnight lows forecast to be down into the middle single digits (5-6Fish). looks like winter finally arrived. yes, i'm happy, i love seeing snow instead of gray blah all the time. it brightens things up. when the sun comes out (if it ever does!) it is blinding...

not too much fresh snow today but i will go out and shovel again this morning.

Had a close scary call with FH co-worker yesterday. He got a few bumps bruises and a broken leg (brace on it) and yes we all thankful the man upstairs was watching over him seeing how it could have been much much worse. No, FH wasn't with him during that. From what FH told me when the tow trucks went to right the truck it was being miserable and stubborn so I replied YUP just like the man who was driving it but that's what kept him alive being miserable and stubborn.

When I was in west Michigan it was in the fall and going to go through the winter dependent on the next contract. Anyway I asked about the winter lows and was surprised that it didn't get as cold as my house, average about the same. I guess the lake brought lots of snow but kept the temps up and the not nearly as wet/humid as home. It seems if you get it snow it seems to dry humidity right out. I guess it's humidity on the ground there as snow or in the air here. I've headed north with a 30 degree drop from house to job (more than one job) and was much more comfortable at 0 for the low than 30. I've also been to ????? East Minnesota West Michigan IDK and I brought the camper. It was -28 two days in and below -20 for 4-6 weeks. For the first 2 weeks everybody was happy that it was getting cold enough to safely drive on the lake and go ice fishing. Boat warm weather NO never. I had to leave the truck running for weeks due to the starter not able to keep up with that, even got in a COLD truck one morning after it was left running because the fan was on to high from the drive home the night/day before.
Forecast here keeps dropping for Mon & Tue both are -2 mornings and 11 for the highs at the most recent update. 28 is the normal looooooow.
Like a few years ago this little cold spell is going to the deep south. Just heard the other day about last year was SUPER warm and this Jan was right on schedule to follow suit watch out I'm melting said the wicked witch of the south.

I was able to rearrange my schedule. I don't need to go anywhere for 3 days. Let it snow!
