One my first cuppa this morning. There will be more, lol!

Woke up to peeps in the incubator this morning. The silkie pullet eggs are hatching. So far, 4 of the six are out. Of the other two - one is pipped and the other is zipped.

Yes ma'am! They got to watch the miracle of birth...or at least the miracle of hatching, lol.

We have grands for an extended amount of days and nights. I almost forgot how childern lighten up a home . I told them about the streetlight rule and how they are to immediately come home when the streetlight comes on. It drew blank stares, finally my oldest grand said "pawpaw, what is a streetlight?"

I took them outside to show them the street light. This only resulted in 101 other questions... what time does the street light come on? Where is it plug? How does it know when to come on?, etc... I answered all their questions, while FB sat back listened, and laughed at a number of their questions and my responses.

I think what really surprised them is when I told them their dad lived through pawpaws streetlight rule when he was a kid. That kind of surprised them that they will have the same rule as their dad had.

Of course this made me feel old... establishing the same rule across two generations. Ok maybe I am old.. but I'm still a kid at heart.

At the end of the questions and answers, I told them there is one more thing I want you to never forget. Pawpaw loves you forever and ever and ever, no matter what, pawpaw will always love you. They liked that a whole lot more than pawpaws streetlight rule.
