figured after the weld test yesterday, I'd have to go straight from the shop to the job and start today. Instead I start Mon and just have to do some site specific "on-line" training.
I guess Monday is better than nothing - but that's a few extra days without pay - ugh.

The time off after weeks of 7 days a week (a month without seeing the family or house) then 6 days a week and lots of work to do at the house is a blessing. I hate to say it but a few things I've needed for years, also needed 6 consecutive big paychecks to get the parts. I've just started ordering some parts a couple of weeks ago and now I can put them in. Also I left the trailer plug in the other day while warming the truck, so it could charge the camper battery while waiting, then I drove off and while setting up to practice some welding I noticed wires and no plug on the truck. I need to fix that to. I'd rather not have snow, ice and mud to work in, but some of these things have been needed for years.

A week or 2 is quite normal in my line of work in between jobs. 50-84 hrs a week for a month make up for 40 hr week not working and being home. I just don't need the 6 months of barely working like last summer, well spring-fall.

@CLSranch THANKS....car had plenty of antifreeze. Actually, about 3 hrs later the sun had melted the re-iced glass and the heater was back in operation. Temps had risen 15* by then. Winds had dropped off. Heater had worked fine day before. It was an unexpected happening 😲

NOW we had been advised this weekend should be a snow blizzard. That's right, they're saying a real humdinger. I don't think I can handle this another week with any amusement! Deflating, depressing, another week of all day chores. Not fair.

AND...another week with no pay? Can't get to jobs?

I would actually like to take at least a little of the cold back.

We AGAIN rained most of the night. :barnie All of the pretty snow is now off the trees, and the parking lots are back to sheets of ice.
I saw where they said the la nina is collapsing and they expect us to be in a bad el nino come summer.
