Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Still wet, but I pressed forward and have about 2/3 of the lawn mowed.
One side of the driveway lawn repaired and seeded. This wasn't all due to the concrete crew. Lower half damage was a combo of the crappy job the driveway guys did last year and the overall slope.

Dirt therapy is the best

You're getting rain!! Here, we're in a moderate drought. Farmers planting late -- too dry for seed to germinate 🙁 This is very sad, unusual for here.

Coffee time is about over. It's day 2 of 3 at home 😁
Hoping to see some farm work happening today. Just need to get myself out there to do it! Lotta choices on list

Beautiful sunny morning, 50s, clear skies. Backfilled and seeded another 20ft of sidewalk edge. Cleaned up a few gravel piles from the driveway sides from my aggressive snow plowing last winter. Filled up the bird feeders and watched the occupants of both bird houses start their day. Got some debris out of both new flower beds (piles of hardened slopped over concrete.

Started trying to noodle out what I want to do to fix up the north side of the driveway edge. Problematic prior to the concrete crew, they just made it a little worse with the wet conditions. Tested my approach on about a quarter of it. Need to think a little more and adjust. Not being able to get to the dirt pile with the tractor is annoying

Sprayed herbicide on the driveway closest to the house...it might work more effectively if I actually put the herbicide in the sprayer with the water.

10:30 and heavy cloud cover with cold wet winds. Rain blowing in after lunch.

it has been fairly dry here the past few weeks too so all the farmers out plowing and planting are kicking up large plumes of dust.

we did get a little rain yesterday but not enough to completely wet things down. today the chances for more rain continue and through the next several days so hopefully we'll get enough so any seeds planted will have a chance to get sprouted and growing.

temperatures are going to be plenty warm for the next 3-4 days and then cooling off to more moderate again but at least no chances of frost in the forecast.

Coffee, waking up, contemplating -- usual start :old 😂
Weather great. 62 this morn, so opened a window a few inches for free AC to blow in for an hr. Was 82 yesterday but, inside at low 70. That be about the same today. I'll be doing farm stuff outside so cool inside is a nice rest.

Got a good line of hot wire fence from a gate, across my backyard, to another fenced area to graze down. Reworking the prior access & not complete...soooo -- temp resolve. But it took a few hrs to get it up yesterday. Today, I'll clean up & mow between said fence & the house. Not cutting anything real close with this no rain situation. I've been working 50-60 hrs a week at job for past month, things need to get caught up here. 😵‍💫. So this is last of a 3 day weekend. It's helping!

I walked that fence several times, pulling out wire. Winds & pollen were not fun. Real stop & blow your nose day! But about 6:30 I came in, showered it off and rested. Watched (& heard) a few of the goat kids find out what hot wire was about! 😉 Their access gate got closed when they got full tummies and headed to barns. Today I'll be home to watch for any who want to challenge and escape. They will be moved out.

Time for a refill. Then dress & get outside.
