This isn't just for camping is it?:)
You mean the desert? No it's for off roading, being lazy and using my dutch oven!! :woot

MsPony, are you looking for developed camping, rv camping, lots of factors to consider. How far are you willing to drive? Reserve America is great for finding spots. You can edit the criteria to fit your needs, read reviews etc... Lake Isabella comes to mind.

Do you want to camp with our horse?, my sil does. I could get her to recommend a place.

any complaints you have about winter post here :ep

any wishes for a fast early early spring post here :clap

lol

go away cold, come on warm! :bun

I put up a wall o water system yesterday and today. I have 5 "hills" that I will plant collective farm woman melons in as soon a the ground temp gets high enough. I also found a nice little microclimate between the shed and the quail pen. No frost at all in that spot. Most of the rest of the yard is frozen. Going to plant some frost tolerant greens and maybe some peas in there before our next snow Monday :D Got to take advantage of our occasional weird warm days in winter.

I'm from California, and I have several favorite camping spots there.

One is a place called Montana de Oro. It is near the town of Los Osos, which is just south of Morro Bay. The campground is one of the nicest I've ever been at. Ocean, trails, tide pools, small museum, day trips, wildlife.....don't feed the racoons! There is no lake though

The other is on the Tule river in the Sequoias, called Belknap. Awesome place! You can fish in the Tule river but there is no lake.

My third is at the Big Sur Campground at Big Sur. No lake but we caught some awesome crawdads.

We enjoyed camping at Bass Lake and Shaver Lake, as well as Lake Isabella.

Oh shaver lake!! Love it!!

I used to live in SLO, ugh, that's not a vacation for me LOL.

Gine: we only have a tent, and Swing can't go farther then the seqouias (I live in sb) so ill search for something up there.

Hey, we used to live in SLO! I loved it there. If I had a million dollars (or 4) I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I kind of got the feeling she wanted to camp w/her own horse. :P

I'm tired of all this cold weather. My yard has not been completely snow free since Christmas. That's unusual for us. I want to finish my tack shed. I want to get the horses all switched around. I want to get my garden planted. I want to ride Misty, and work more w/Licky so I can ride her some too. I want to get my chickens moved, and my coop built. There's just so much I want to do and can't because of the cold and snow.

I want to expand and finish my second turkey house. It's going to get a garage for my lawn tractor and garden tools. Then we need to plant some barley and do more fencing. Whenever I go to work on Monday I always get asked what I did over the weekend. The answer is always the same. Fencing or building coops.
He is NOT putting his darn tractor in my turkey house. The turkey house will be for turkeys as I have many, many orders to fill for turkey babies.
Is that some sort of code? :lau

Spring IS coming!!! :celebrate

I had just posted on TEG that I was checking out the yard here and found growth buds on my roses, bluberries & fruit trees AND my tulips are starting to poke thru the ground.

But of course our Puget Sound winter weather hasn't been nearly as bad as everyone else's :hide

I wouldn't be able to tell if I have flowers coming up. The flower garden is covered w/several inches of snow. :hit
