I only know a bit above basics on it. Hubby understands more since they covered some of it at his A School before going into aircraft specific stuff. My A School was airframes, structural maintenance, and some hydraulics.

It's the people who complain about high power lines and EMF fields that make me snort with laughter. You get more EMF walking by your dryer than you do standing under the high power lines. The things tend to hum and I can't stand the sound, so I wouldn't look at properties too close to them even though they tend to be much cheaper because of the unsightly things.

I've had to explain to my Mom enough times on microwaves and powerlines. So have her 4 brothers and my great uncle. She doesn't understand the science very well, which is weird because for a family that was farmers they turned out a bunch of geeks and nerds.
