This thread is great. My mind is playing tricks on me, I can still "smell" that lovely aroma that was there no matter how much you try to keep things clean

We had our two little grand daughters Thursday, ages 18 months and 3 years old. The 18 month, #3 watched intently as I cleaned the tub that CCX chicks are in. She kept saying chicken chicken chicken chicken......she went to the toy kitchen that is on the porch and came back with a plastic egg. She lobbed into the tub, still saying chicken chicken chicken chicken......

This is the CCX I ordered, they arrived March 23, alone with 12 Australorps. One CCX was dead in the box, credit was returned. One died a few days later, I now have 28.

This is the FREE CCX I got from Tractor Supply. I think they are 3 weeks old now. We got 25, lost one, now have 24.

I’ve started on chicken tractors. Been delayed by keeping grand daughters because the babysitter’s daughter had strep throat. Our son showed up Friday, we babysat grands again Friday night and all day Saturday. Cooked lamb burgers on the pit on Easter, hunted eggs and just had a good family weekend. Time to go back to work!

They look good and healthy what are you feeding them? Here's what mine looked like at 3 weeks. Mine were all roos. I feed the 21% meatbird 12 on / 12 off since day one. I nicknamed mine fatties and they were too.
