Finally got around to butchering some quail yesterday. Started out with 12, but fumble fingers dropped one. I have no idea why Raine and Karma thought it was a doggie treat. Took an hour from cage to kitchen.

Before the final cleaning:
Those look really good.

So are they about the size of a cornish hen?

(we also have a Kharma for a pup)

They were quite young, but they got along fine. Might have been because they were younger. I have one pen now though that has three mature males in it and they're pretty ok together.
Do you have any girls in with them?

I would hatch them and keep them together until sexual maturity, eat the extra boys.

Once or twice I actually raised them with chicken chicks until the quail were at sexual maturity.
