It has quite a bit of useful stuff, but I think the chicken part is just a repeat of the Storey's chicken book. I also have The Encyclopedia of Country Living.

One of my Favorites is Back to Basics, from readers digest. Now this book has some very basic living "how-to's" Cant beat a good book, for backup.
