Dacjohns--Changes

She must like the saw although she is a little sore from cutting wood and playing with her sister's Wii New Years Eve.

Four tractor buckets of wood today. We are getting a start on firewood for next winter and are finding dead stuff for this winter. Thankfully the winters are somewhat mild here.

My little mutt chickens are laying like crazy. :woot

The water company read the water meter today and told us we might have a leak in our water line; 3000 gallons more than the last reading and the meter is spinning. The line is a quarter mile long and we haven't been able to find the leak. Looks like we are going to fill up buckets and just turn the water on when we need to take showers until we can find and fix the leak.

Ugg I had a leak in my water main once. It actually burst and ran a river down our drive and half way around the block before we found out. I know at this time of year it may be hard to tell, but are there any really green patches along the line? Maybe a couple of those willow stick things. Good luck trying to find it.

Can I ask what kind of saw? We had to take the plunge and purchase a new one this week. Cheaper than paying for lp gas.

She got her saw today. A Stihl Mini Boss, MS 180C with a 14" bar, easy start feature.
Sure would be nice if she would let you post a pic of her holding her new chainsaw.

We have water leaks all the time. This horrible red clay pitches and heaves so much it loosens the fittings on our water line. But they are easy to find now. We marked all the fitted links over the years as we have had to dig the line up looking for leaks so many times.
Good luck, I know how frustrating they can be.

wow Dacs that stinks you have a leak and wasted about 3000 gallons. you obviously are on a paid water situation.

What is it with water lines? LOL
Mine is leaking too---but very lucky---it is from the back of the house to the barn. Contractor building addition said it is kinda under my back porch area. He is putting in a mudroom sink in the new room and said he can cut off that line, put in a new one and voila, leak is fixed. Lucky me, simple fix.

Hope you find that leak soon.

No luck on the leak yet. It isn't leaking enough to surface yet and the ground is wet to start with. Crummy time of year for a water leak.

Got my wife her other Christmas present or maybe her birthday present. She wanted her own laptop so that's what she got. Now we can IM each other. :lau

Awww. . . dac, how sweet. A chainsaw and a laptop . . . she's a lucky woman.

A few years ago, my DH got me a big tiller for the garden for Mother's Day. I love it and I use it.

Hope you find that leak soon. Are you on city water or do you have a well?

I'm on city water. It's a quarter mile from the house to the meter. The leak could be seeping down through the soil and then hitting a rock layer and surfacing way down hill.
