Wow! Does it work? Does one feel safer carrying a canister of bear spray? Does the bear see the canister and run? Or is it like pepper spray and the bear has to be on top of you for it to work?dacjohns said:

The bear spray is extra strong pepper spray. It is supposed to work but I really don't want to find out. The range is 30 feet so they have to pretty much be on top of you.

Haven't even seen any bear sign in the area where we are working. Maybe when we move further north.
Little bit of moose sign though but no live ones yet.

Lions and tigers and bears.... OH NO!
As for the bear spray. I guess if a bear is about to eat you, its better than nothing. But I would really prefer to have a suit of armor, and elephant gun, and 6 well armed body guards. Of course that would probably make your job almost impossible.
So I guess bear spray is the best option.

Oh no. I left my bear spray in the truck today. Good thing I didn't see any bears.
There are a lot of private residences in the area where we are working. They don't seem to worry too much about bears, lots of trash cans out today for trash pickup just sitting at the side of the road.
