goodness! yesterday I was loading the dishwasher and she was nearby. I put a dish in. She ducked and bolted! Handshy much?! :ep She's such a gentle dog. Makes me so angry that somebody was too rough with her!

When I first got her, she had "nightmares". whining, growling, fast heartrate, heavy breathing, legs paddling like she was running. Several times a night They're not nearly so dramatic or frequent now. I pet her and she doesn't wake up, but she quiets down. :love

She will calm down with the love that you show her. Trust takes time and patience and you have so much to give her.

Been a quiet week or so here. Staying out of the garden, getting some housework done, homeschool season started up.

DS11 is fighting the schedule and his grades are showing it. Mostly Fs. :hu okay, whatever, be that way and see where it leads. Gotta give him enough space to learn hard life lessons now rather than later.

DS3 begs to do school, so sweet! :love

DH bought a hot rod and has been cleaning out his stuff to make space for it. I'm happy because 1) he's cleaning out stuff and 2) our arrangement is he gets a car, I get a dog. Now we're even. :gig His cleaning up inspired me to clear out my little attic studio/sewing room, and I found an ant infestation. Well, I found it a week ago or so and sprayed an ant poison/barrier product. Killed thousands. I thought it was over, but now there are just as many, if not more, in a different area. They seem to be attract to wood rather than food or water. I hope they're not termites. I don't even know if we can get termites here. We're sending photos to the state bug specialist and I collected some in a bag just in case they want a specimen. Ick!!

Ewwww on the ants! Hope they're ants instead of termites. Hotrods can be fun! Or time/money drains, lol. Whatever - it keeps the guys busy and sometimes that's a good thing, lol.

They might be carpenter ants, which is not any better than termites. The fact that they are in the attic makes me think they are, because they tend to get into a house by dropping onto the roof from nearby trees. We used to have constant problems with them until we put on a metal roof.

Hope you all settle into a homeschool routine! We started today, with a field trip lol. Tomorrow begins the real work (yeah it's K/1st grade so not that hard work!)

How's your dog doing?
