Daydreaming while waiting impatiently!

Congrats on the baby!

Sounds like things are starting to come together nicely for you. Good luck w/all your projects.

Congrats on the baby! Take good care of yourself and don't over work. I know that's hard on a farm!

Lol, no more angoras for me. I have a fuzzy lop buck. Wooled like an angora, but 8# smaller!

We got the tractor stuck - and unstuck - in mud today. How does a hill get that wet?

Moved the sheep to new pasture today. Need to get more electric fence wire for moving goats tomorrow.

We got the electric fence up and moved the goats to a new pasture. They sure act strange in a new place! They are pastured next door to the sheep, both pastures go into pens in the barn. It will be easier to water the goats in winter right in the barn.

I'm working less (12 - 20 hours/week) and enjoying my time at home. My fiancé is pretty gosh darn happy the yesterday's supper dishes are magically gone before lunch time!

Now I have to figure out what to do with all these APPLES! Our freezers are FULL. We have a dehydrator. I don't have a pressure canner or a food mill.

you could can your apples with just a water bath as apples are an acid food. Canned slices would be very versatile- you could make pies and cobblers, or applesauce in small batches, from them. Of course, dehydrated apples are very versatile too...

Oh thanks Britesea! I didn't realize I should look at water bath canning! I would rather have canned apples for pie filling than frozen anyway. I worry about losing our freezer stash if power goes out, so anything that is canned instead makes me happy.

Do you have clear gel or a place to buy it? If you do, you can can pie filling.

I was able to find Clear Gel at Cash N Carry (but it was a LIFE-TIME amount, lol), also in more reasonable sized bags at our local Extension office.

The goats sure didnt like their new accomodations! They kept going in with the sheep. Which would be ok except the big dairy goat wasnt being so gentle with the sheep. My fiance built the goat barn pen much higher. Theyre staying on their side today.

Nice quiet day. Planning to bake apple pies. Maybe take a nap too.
