Slowly but surely. Unless something crazy happens, I should be able to start riding her again this month! Then eventually, I'll be able to let my niece ride her.
What a day! I got a lot done, just not my whole list.
I had planned on working in the garden early, but it was too wet, so I wouldn't have been able to do what I'd planned. So instead, I did some housework and threw a load of clothes in the washer. I had planned on taking my bike-until I looked at the radar. They were showing a whole line of storms heading our way. Since EH wanted me to mow, I figured I'd better call her and see if she still wanted me to come and work this morning. We decided it would be better for me to come later. Then I got a bright idea.
Since RU got rid of the jimson weed that I had for shade for my chickens, I decided to plant volunteer tomatoes along the fence in their pen instead. Rather than waiting out the storm, I decided to run out, gently pull out all the tomatoes, put them in buckets of water, and take them to the farm today. That way I could leave earlier rather than later. So it was raining when I left.
It had stopped by the time I got to the farm. So I fed everyone, then took all the tomatoes out of my truck and stuck them in front of my tack shed. I have that rigged so the horses can't get to that area.
Once everyone was done eating, I let my horses out in the parking area, then started working on cleaning the field. I knew there was no way I could use the manure spreader, so I used my cart. Only problem being, I had a flat! I kept pumping up the tire hoping it would hold the air enough for me to dump the cart. No such luck. I don't know if the tube is destroyed or not. I'll have to yank off the tire and check it out.
W/that done, I got the field mowed. I didn't realize until I was almost done that the mower didn't stay at the height I had it set at. I don't know how much of the field got mowed w/the mower all the way down. I didn't want it that low! But maybe it's a good thing. Maybe that will get rid of the buttercups.
W/the field mowed, I then moved on to the RP. But to do that, I decided to move the one post that I use for sectioning off my field. Got that moved, got the wires back up to keep the horses out of that area, and started my measuring. It took much longer than I was expecting, but I got it all done! Tomorrow I'll start putting the posts up. Once done, it will be about 60' in diameter.
If I had gotten done earlier, I would have gone to EH's, then come back and fed Stormy. But it was getting late, so I got him fed, put out hay and got the chickens taken care of. Went to EH's and mowed for a couple of hours, then headed home.
It was around 5:30 when I got home, and I had to relax for a bit. Finally got up, went out and fed the goats and Thumper. W/them fed, I started working in my garden. I have a bunch of asparagus coming up in the wrong place. I know this is the wrong time of the year to transplant it, but I tried transplanting it in the spring B4 and it didn't work that well. And since it was getting ready to rain, I figured this might be a good time to try. I got about half of it done. I'm not quite ready to plant the rest, so it worked out.
Since I got home so late, I didn't have time to put the clothes out on the line. So once I was done outside, I came in, threw the clothes in the dryer and got a shower. I had planned on cleaning the bathroom, but it was getting late. I had also planned on doing dishes, but didn't. So, I'll do that in the morning. I figure I did enough for the day.
