Just realized, I never finished w/my story of Cindy.
I was about ready to leave the farm, but was thinking of stopping back later in the evening (I had a Christmas party to go to that was just a few miles from the farm.) when I suddenly remember that I had gone into RU's tack shed. It's bigger than mine, and I had put a 50 lb bag of feed into it a couple of weeks ago. I normally get 2 bags at a time to put in the cans in my shed, but since my hubby was supposed to come out and work on mine, I had stuck the one bag in her shed. (It's hard to move those cans when they're almost full.) Since I don't know when he's coming, I had decided to get the bag, and put it in the can. I opened the door, and there was Cindy! She was quite happy to see me, and quite happy to get out of there! I could have sworn she was in my tack shed when I left Friday night, but apparently not.
Winter has come early here, and it's about 10, 15 degrees colder than normal for this time of year. I've seen a few flurries. I didn't have time on Saturday to work in my garden, and rested on Sunday. Monday I did a bit more, but not as much as I would have liked to. I was frozen by the time I got home, and just wanted to relax in the house. I'm about 1/2 done my asparagus patch. I'll be working in it more today. If I can finish it, then the rest is much easier. I have GOT to get it all done by Saturday. They're talking even colder temps next week. Right now, the ground isn't frozen, but I'm not sure how much longer that will last. Once I get it all cleaned out, I can bring home manure from the farm, then cover the whole thing w/all the leaves in my yard. I'm going to cover a section w/black plastic, been wanting to do that for a few years now to see if it really does make a difference.
Other than that, I've just been doing wood, laundry and dishes. Once I get the garden done, I'll be able to do more housework.
