Last Friday, it snowed. Saturday it snowed. And they're calling for more snow tonight! I'm getting tired of snow!
Right now, I have so much to do, it's not even funny. I'll be going to the hay auction today. If I'm unable to get any RBs, I do know where I can probably get them for $30.00. And, while that's more than I like to spend, I figured out how much it's costing me to put out the square bales every day, and it will be cheaper. (Next winter, we won't have this problem. We'll only be getting hay for 4 horses, and it WILL be bought early.)
I did have a talk w/KN on Friday. I was not planning on it. But, the farrier was supposed to come. He never showed up. She wanted to go out to lunch. I told her I couldn't afford it, she offered to pay, so we went out to lunch. While there, I told her that RU wanted her back field back, so she asked how we were supposed to put 9 horses in the front field. So, I told her that we weren't. Instead, it was going to be just my 3 as well as Honey, the haflinger since we use her for pony rides. At first she was upset, until I reminder her that they were RU's horses, and it would make our life easier. So, she's now come to accept it. And, I also told her I wasn't renewing the ads for the pony rides, but instead wanted to try the campgrounds and see about doing pony rides there. She was agreeable to that idea. So, my life will get easier after April. That's when I'm planning on making the split.
I'm also still planning on quitting my job at the end of the year. I'm counting down for that. I get a headache almost every day. And, I honestly don't think the girl that cleans the stalls on the weekends does that great a job. The stalls were horrible yesterday, plus really light on shavings. It took me longer to get them clean. Plus, I had to bring hay over. I had thought the other person would bring it over during the weekend since there was just barely enough for the weekend. My boss did mention that she did hurt her wrist awhile back, and wondered if it's still hurting her, and that's why she didn't bring over the hay.
Today when I get home, I'll be doing wood for as long as I can. I may have enough to stuff the stove b4 I leave, but that's it. And w/the storm moving in, I want to get as much done as I can. I'm hoping my hubby will be feeling OK when he gets home. If so, he could cut up a bunch, which would help, even though he can't split it. But, I'm hoping to not only get the wood holder in the basement filled, but to have a large stack cut up so I can start on splitting it and putting it away. I just never have enough time to do that. I'm hoping to one day get to the point of having the wood all ready in the spring for the following winter so I can just go out and get it as needed.
