We're supposed to have thunderstorms today. I hope so. The ground at the farm is rock hard. I got blisters yesterday working on the pig weed and didn't realize it until I took my gloves off. A friend and I are supposed to go kaynoeing, but I have a feeling we're not going.

Hope the rain comes for you! This is our rainy/stormy month, but it's fortunately been interspersed with sunny days like yesterday and today so it hasn't been all that bad this year. Last year our June was cold and wet.

I hear you on the weeding blisters too, I'm always amazed when I notice a blister later in the day and can't believe I got it from pulling weeds.

Hope the Kayaking works out for today--sounds like you could use a fun break!

We didn't go kaynoeing today after all. It's still way too hot. Plus, it's hazy and humid so I preferred to do no more than I had to outside. I'm now hiding in my house in the AC.

Last month, my truck failed inspection. The check engine light came on a couple of days B4 I had to take it. When they inspected it, they came up w/a code. So tonight, I decided to try to google it and see if I could find out what the code meant. Much to my surprise, it meant we had a blown fuse! We replaced the fuse and the light went out. So now I get to take it back thru inspection. At least it will pass now.

Temps have dropped and we got a little bit of rain. We're supposed to get more overnight. I so hope we do. It's so dry out and we could really use a good, soaking rain.

We got rain, too, not as much as I would have liked, but any is better than none!

Yay on the truck! The check engine light is on in my explorer, but that is because there is some sensor that has gotten moisture in it and it has gotten rusty, so the light comes on. When we had that SUPER cold winter where it was below 25 for a week, lo and behold the light went off!

Well, we got about 1/2" of rain last night and it feels much cooler out. I'm not sure what all we're going to do. I know I need to get something secure set up for the chicks. Having them in the house is bothering my allergies, so they're outside right now. They enjoy that. They have more room to run around and practice their flying.

Yup, its cooler, but the humidity hasn't gone down much. If you can find a place in the shade and if the breeze is blowing and if you're not moving its nice! But that is a lot of ifs.

A few years ago, hubby bought an old Blazer. He supposedly got it for me so I could use it to haul the horses. I never wanted it and it never ran right. It was (as he's now willing to admit) a big mistake. Our son was supposedly going to fix it, but he never did. So, it's done NOTHING for the past few years but sit in the yard and take up room. Today, we scraped it. We didn't get much for it, and could have possibly gotten more if we had looked around a bit. But, we were both tired of looking at it, and needed the money. So today hubby called someone and told them to come and get it. I am so glad it's gone! Now I can get that section of the yard all cleaned up!

It was fairly nice out today, so I stuck the chicks out. Since we're not having PM church this summer, I went out to the farm later, so it was starting to get dark by the time I got home. The chicks were all telling me that it was time to go in. But, I had a few things to do B4 I could bring them in. (Like take down the towels I hung out yesterday.) I get everything else done, and go to get the chicks. I notice something at the top of the gate, and couldn't figure out what it was-until I got over there. It was one of the chicks! I wasn't really expecting them to fly that high yet! The top of the gate it almost 6 ft high! So, I'm going to have to make sure they can't get out. I don't know now if I want to put them out if I'm not outside or not. They're really getting too big (and stinky) to keep in the house. I'm wondering if there's some way I can divide up where the nuggets are so I can get them out to the farm.

So glad to hear you are finally getting some rain. We were getting pretty dry up here for a while as well.

Could you use Round up or Weed B Gone for the pig weed? We usually use that for some of the nasty weeds we get through the hay of our suppliers. Not sure if you are into those things but in our case, we can't weed 14 acre sby hand so the stuff comes in real handy and works great.
