Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

Well, today was my first day of work! And, I think I'm going to really like this job!

I got up at the normal time, did a bit of housework, saw hubby off for work, ate something and made some lunch and left. Got the horses all fed, scrubbed the water trough, fed CL's horses, cats and my chickens, bagged some feed and left. This morning we started w/the kids summer programs. Years ago, I helped w/this programs as a volunteer, so I pretty much knew what was going on. In the afternoon, I really worked hard! I sorted a ton of crayons (and didn't finish. I think I could probably tell you all the colors in a 24 pack of Crayola crayons!) I painted a snake as a demo for tomorrow's craft. I answered some questions from a family that visited the nature center. And, I answered the phone several times. The hardest part? I was wearing shoes! But, I've found out I don't have to wear them in the afternoon. I can bring a pair of flip flops!

When I was done, I headed back to the farm, got Storm fed, checked the chickens and scooped some poop, then went home.

I'm a bit wore out, but only because I'm not used to the schedule yet. I figure in a couple of days, I should be fine.

Sounds like a great first day Deb! Also seems like you will be able to work in everything around it too, so :ya

Once I get used to it all, I'm sure I'll be fine. I went to bed at shortly after 8:00 last night, and didn't want to get up when the alarm went off at 5:00!

Congrats on completing your first day! Glad you're setting some boundaries with the folks at the farm, even if you do have a good excuse! Sometimes that is what it takes for people to be appreciative. And it helps you save face, you've got an easy answer - nobody will fault you for having a job and making money!

Found out more of my responsibilities. And, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle it. When I don't have any specific tasks to do, I'm expected to spend time becoming more familiar w/the park. In other words, I'm supposed to walk the trails and even take a canoe out on the lake! Oh the horror of it all!

oh the horrer of it all! i feel so bad for you...NOT. sounds like fun.

Yep, I'm really enjoying it so far. There are some parts of the park I've never really explored, so now I can! The lake is 90 acres, the park itself is about 1000! I just wish I was allowed to take Misty over w/me, but they don't want people riding horses in the park.

That sounds like an AWESOME job!! Too bad they don't allow horses, because that would be the ultimate win/win: You get to explore the park, and Misty gets exercise!

Deb,

I've just got to say that it sounds like the worse job...EVER!!! And I am so joking! :gig

So glad that you were the one to finally get the job! :celebrate :hugs
