Same here. I'm hoping to get some cochin pullets. There's 3 TSCs in the area that sell chicks, so I'm hoping one of them will let me examine them. I don't want them to just scoop up chicks, plop them in a box and hand them to me. After all, I'm the one that's going to be raising them, I should be able to check them out first.

The one I was in today does that. The one I bought them in last year let me pick the ones I wanted. I knew more about them than they did, so that may have had something to do w/it.

Yeah, i always know more about them than the TSC workers....it's kinda sad really.

Can you sex cochins at that age by the wing feathers? I know you can w/some, but don't recall if you can w/the cochins. If at all possible, since I have to buy 6, I'd like to end up w/a cockerel and 5 pullets.

I'm not quite as up to snuff on the Cochins, but I believe that is true of them.

I was over there the other day....the place has been overtaken by a bunch of kids for the most part with a bunch of silly role play threads i don't enjoy it as much as I used to....lots of good information though.
