Did I just kill my onion starts?

Went in to water them tonight and found the flats to be bone dry.

Noticed that about half of my starts are laying on their side. Everything is still green, though.

Did I just kill them? They sucked up water much faster since my last refill

Maybe not, they may have just wilted for a bit. When they do that, the best thing to perk them back up is WARM water. I don't know why it works, just know that it does

Did they come back? Always at least try. I had squash plants in the field last year that looked crispy dead. DH watered them anyway and they came back and thrived.

Looks like most of them rebounded! And they are already in need of watering. They chugged it down fast.

I have to say that I had my fingers crossed for ya! little babies can put up with a lot. I have had a few annuals bloom and die out early if I stressed them more than a couple times tho, like cilantro and other herbs too. but I don't think I had that problem with my baby onions yet.

If sowing from seed then sow in drills about 2cm deep with about 1 inch between seeds. If sowing in rows then space the rows about 30cm apart. The soil should be moist before sowing so check the soil the day before sowing and water if the soil is dry.
