This recipe can be made without or with the alcohol. You can leave out the brandy or rum and it is still delicious!

Egg Nog

12 eggs- separated
1 C. sugar

Beat egg yolks and sugar until thick. Slowly add 1 1/2 to 2 C. brandy or rum. Chill. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

To egg yolk mixture add:
3 C. milk
3 C. heavy cream or Half & Half
1 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Fold in egg whites. Chill.

Makes about a gallon.

If it contains no alcohol, is there alcohol free brandy or rum out there that I know nothing about???

DUH! I meant to say you can leave out the brandy or rum and it is still delicious! I have our church soup luncheon and packing chickens on the brain today! ;)

I will edit my original post! Thanks for catching that, QA!

HAHAHA that's Ok. Thank you!

Now I just need my girls to pop some eggs out. Maybe I better go squeeze some hens...

Ok, here is an eggless version until the girls get busy.
Eggless eggnog
* 8 cups milk
* 1 (3 ounce) package jello instant vanilla pudding
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 teaspoons vanilla
* 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions
In large bowl, mix pudding with 1 cup milk.
When pudding is thick, add remaining ingredients, mix very well. Chill.

This is great for kids (raw egg concerns) or adults with compromised immune systems.
Oh and I have even added a dash of rum extract which was good also!

LOL Layers are always nice.

I did just go out to shut the girls in, and someone had popped out an egg..no squeezing from me either.
