Dreaming of Chickens - Rocky and Carlo's

Mosquitoes! :rant Dang, that's one thing that I don't miss about SELA. We had them bad up here once when we had a real rainy summer, so when it dried up, I had our swampy area bulldozed. Now when it collects water I pour a little olive oil on top of the water to smother the larvae. So far, so good.

Blue berries grew well for us down there, so you should be fine. I just wish I could keep a satsuma tree alive up here. I'm for 3 on satsumas. lol

One of the three buds I think are gonna be eggplants

View of the entire yard. Yes this is all of it. That is our fig tree and the peabarrow is in the background. Don't know if you can really see that.

I have a few more pics I'll post later. Hubby just told me to get dressed so we can go to a car show!

This is the garden on side of the house. The eggplant bush is blocking the view of it, but there is another small plot on the other side of it.

It was great to have some rain yesterday, but it almost killed two of my bell peppers. I will have to check everything again tomorrow morning. Seemed OK this morning though, so I think they will make it despite the betting they got from the rain. They are still just sooo tiny. Grow already wouldya!!

Checked and lightly watered the gardens this morning. Everything looks good except one bell pepper that I am still not sure about. It lost one of it's two leaves. On the upside the eggplant bush looks great! There are at least 5 eggplants coming in and maybe another 5 that look promising. :weee :weee :weee

You can't beat the micro climate of the Parish and the length of the growing season. The Summer garden up here is done for and there's just a few things going for the Fall garden.
