We learned yesterday via our buyers that the tenants' offer on the house they are after, got accepted They confirmed that they will move out by the 15th of May. We're getting there…. In the meantime, I found a pretty nice property, wrong part of the country from where I'd like to be, but nice:

I really like the house, the acreage is good also and the out buildings look very serviceable but... is that the main road 4 feet from your front door?? that would be the deal breaker for me.

Hey all, long story short, between the stress caused by our current tenants and (not) moving situation and getting nowhere with the Irish agents with regards to finding something to buy, I had a serious rethink about the situation and my plans on Tuesday. I decided to look for a rental property first and then take my time looking for something to buy. I emailed an agent that I know over there today and he replied almost immediately, saying he has something in mind for me and when am I coming?
DH asked me to look for a property he saw some ages ago and in the process I found an apartment (in need of some serious work) in Cork CITY CENTRE for e20,000!
The cheapest property in that area on daft.ie sold for e130.000 recently? Can you say "Buy, fix up, flip?" Unfortunately we do not have the cash from our sale yet and I'd be amazed if that place is still up for sale tomorrow (it got listed today). Goodness the land it's sitting on is probably worth more than the asking price! I said to DH this may be something to look into? Buy something like that, throw some money at it, flip it? I've been watching the properties there long enough to be able to spot the bargains when they come up… Definitely something to look into in future.
