IDK guys... It's Jan 17 and looks like my Turkey hens are about to go into lay. I noticed my Tom displaying over the last few days and don't ever recall my Tom displaying this early, let alone mating.

Mom's terrified because it looks like her fruit trees are going to bloom. They did this last year and the colder weather end of January killed the buds so no fruit.

Same here with fruit trees, 2 yrs in a row! :( :hit

Now I am not fond of cold but, do it and get done.....not up and down. I would be ok with warm and stay. 😁

At least one of my hens is fixing to go into lay. Again... Never seen them go into lay this early before, it's only 20th of January.

Our shepherd seems to be starting to shed also ... he is going to freeze his tail off come February.

Our grass grows very slow in winter because of our mild climate. It only browns back in summer. The side effect of this climate is that I need to take my truck to the car wash and remove the moss and lichen yearly.

The cottonwood buds are starting to swell. Normal year I pick them early March. Right now they are looking a week or so from being ready.

My livestock did not get near as much winter coat as usual. I'm cold, they seem ok! I have 3 hens who waited until Dec to start to molt  :idunno. Last week I looked at my apple trees and they had buds but, not thinking that's way ahead. Been a tolerable winter so far.....then there's Feb to consider still.

I've got some green in some of my fields, too. But I broadcast some winter cereal grains, so...?...but some grass I banked is still carrying color well for winter!
