The basic (off the back of the box) Lipton Onion Soup recipe - tweaked a bit - 'cause that's just my style...
Lipton Soup Mix Meatloaf
1 envelope onion soup mix or homemade equivalent
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 C bread crumbs or oatmeal
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons dried celery
1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary or savory
1/3 C ketchup
3/4 C water
Combine all ingredients in large bowl.
Bake 350F for about one hour in 9x13 pan.
Or bake for about 40 minutes in muffin tins for individual servings.
Alternate: using a large ice cream scoop, make individual meatloaf balls and bake as if in muffin cups. (This is a big hit with kids.)
Onion Soup & Dip Mix
2 C. powdered milk
3/4 C. cornstarch
1/4 C. beef bouillon crystals
3 T. dried onion flakes
1 tsp. dried basil leaves, crushed
Measure all ingredients into a ziploc bag and shake well. Or mix ingredients together in large bowl. Transfer to canning jar or storage container and store for up to a year.
To Use
1/3 c. Onion Mix equals 1 package store soup
