At our house, you can barely sit down without a cat jumping up in your lap. 3 people, 2 cats, and it's a never ending job. We call it "who has lap duty?" It's a good job. The person not on lap duty feels bound to go get your water. It just seems rude to wake a cat when they look so very comfortable!

I'm sure Stormy will come out with time. Pixie looks at home already. :)

So sweet of you to get them from a rescue vs getting kittens from someone. I hope they both will repay you tenfold in time for your kindness!

Morning update...Stormy continues hiding. Pixie took over the bed last night. She had breakfast while I made coffee. We have had our morning WWE wraslin' match, now she is monitoring the bird feeder

Awww! The last two cats I had, I got both as kittens, spent most of their first few days hiding. They got into places I didn't know were accessible, until they arrived lol

Thanks. My only tinge of regret...while we were holding/interacting with Pixie, there was a family working their way by all of the cages. One little girl kept giving me the stink eye the whole time I held Pixie. Later, as we were leaving, they came up and the dad asked if they could pet her. He got me aside and said that was one his daughter wanted, so her being rude to us was because of that. I started to offer not to take Pixie, but he smiled and shook my hand, and asked that we give Pixie a great life

We have food and water near where Stormy is hiding, as well as the litter box. We are patient. Lol

Hopefully the "perfect" kitten or cat for her and her family was waiting for her there.

I moved the food bowl further and further away from their hiding spots and started hanging around the room after putting the food down. Then petting them a bit when they came out. It took a few days, but they learned me = yummy food.
